Generally speaking, the receiver either listens for possibilities in your message, how the message impacts others, the facts of the message, or how the content of the message will lead to action and control for the listener. When you work with others, listening to the content of their messages will help you determine what’s important to include in your content when you want to get your point across. Then you can choose words purposefully to help others listen to you and understand.
