Confronting Generational Biases: Ageism at Work

Each generation in the workplace is often subject to stereotypes. For example, it's not unusual for people to assume that older colleagues struggle with learning new technology. But in truth, these broad assumptions rarely hold up. When we lean on stereotypes, we risk creating a culture of exclusion—one that narrows our perspective and undervalues the unique contributions each person brings to the team.

Additional Information

Stereotyping generations at work can lead to unfair assumptions, like believing older employees can’t adapt to new technology. These generalizations are often untrue and can create an exclusionary culture that overlooks individual strengths and contributions.
