Additional Information

It’s easy to let situations at work get the best of us, causing us to react in emotional or even negative ways. This is sometimes referred to as a “victim mindset.” This is a belief that we can’t control or influence events around us, so we avoid responsibility for our own actions, behaviors, and choices.

We all engage in these behaviors from time to time. It’s part of being human!

But we need to recognize that we have a choice in how to respond when we find ourselves in one of the situations. We’re all in control of our own behavior. We can choose to respond with a negative “victim mindset,” or we can look for ways to turn negative situations into positive opportunities.
