Additional Information
Phishing emails are deceptive messages that impersonate trusted sources to pressure recipients into sharing sensitive information or taking risky actions. Other things to consider when it comes to sketchy emails:
- There is never any transaction or task that is so urgent and confidential that you cannot talk to anyone else about it.
- Tasks that involve transfers of funds, or personally identifiable information, like employee social security numbers, should be verified with a superior.
- You should never volunteer information - such as who can authorize a transaction.
