Diversity 201™ - Three Strikes

AWARD WINNER!

Intersectionality & Workplace Discrimination

Telly Award Winner! Each of us is a combination of many different aspects of our lives and we experience the world not just as one, but a blending of all of them. We must recognize that there are many facets of who we are: race, economic class, gender, even sexual orientation. These can impact how someone may experience workplace discrimination.

Additional Information

Intersectionality and discrimination are two concepts that are closely related to the issues of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Intersectionality is a framework that helps us understand how different aspects of a person's identity, such as gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, class, and other factors, can interact and create unique experiences of discrimination and oppression. Discrimination is the unfair and unequal treatment of a person or a group based on their identity or background, rather than their merit or performance.
