Understanding Behavior-Based Interviewing

Effective Hiring: The Power of Predictive Behavior-Based Interviews

This interviewing strategy covered in this video is behavior-based because of its emphasis on gaining specific examples of what a person has done in order to help predict what that person will do. It is based on the premise that behavior predicts. People tend to perform in the future in the way that they performed in the past. It’s structured in that the interviewer will ask the same questions, in the same order, to all interviewees.

Additional Information

Although behavior-based interviewing is a commonsense approach to the interview process, it's not necessarily easy to do. Then, they will be able to apply the behavior-based approach and make their assessments by using More Than a Gut Feeling.
