SafetyBytes® - Shock Protection and Grounding

Avoiding Shocks and Electrical Hazards

In an electrical system, the grounding system is the primary protection against electrical shock hazards. It provides a low-resistance pathway to ground to protect against electrical faults. In this SafetyBytes® module, we’ll discuss the importance of shock protection and grounding.

Additional Information

This course reviews the importance of grounding a circuit. Equipment is grounded by bonding all enclosures, such as the junction box where voltage is tapped, together and back to the source, usually by means of the conduit system and the green wire in flexible cord.
